I don't write reviews often, however David was one of the best providers I have had. This was my first visit there for a consult. He was incredibly thorough, respectful and answered all questions that I had. He had a great bedside manner, explained plan of care and follow up very well, and was very knowledgeable. I will definitely be sticking with him for care.

It is a pleasure to see professional like David Ohotnicky . During my recent office visit in Torrington, CT, he listened well, answered all my questions, I find him and his office staff to be exactly what I appreciate I highly recommend the APRN David Ohotnicky.

He is the most wonderful and amazing doctor that I have ever had. He listens and he is funny. One thing that I like about him is that he doesn't tell you how to eat. He tells you to to eat less. Not like other doctors they try to take things away from you. I lost weight since I've been seeing him.

NOTE: I posted this in January. I had contacted a patient advocate in October. I never heard back. When I reached back out they said they assumed it was resolved ..so never thought to reach out and check with the patient. !! These communication issues RUN DEEP at Hartford Healthcare and only the patients suffer. NO ONE at HH cares about the opportunity to “make this right” despite having the chance for 90days they failed pretty miserably. If Tracey Hussey from Bristol sees this- you should run screaming from this place too!! Because they’re not careful whose chart they pull!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I’m disgusted. This is a frightening place to be diabetic, and I deeply worry about patients who aren’t able to advocate for themselves here. I’ve been going to this office all year, yet I’ve had to rely on my previous endocrinologist at another practice to get my prescriptions filled. David has been unable to recommend a safe treatment protocol since his go-to option was discontinued. He acknowledged this back in the spring and, over the course of three appointments, has still failed to find a safe alternative. In what felt like a smug attempt to appear thorough, the office printed my prescription for me to take home—but it turned out to be for an entirely different patient: a woman in her 60s who lives in another town. Not me—the patient who has been calling all year about prescription issues, only to be told repeatedly, “we sent it,” with no concern for whether I actually received the medication I need. Overall, he is inattentive during appointments. He’s consistently about 10 minutes late, then in and out of the room numerous times, which is reflected in how little accurate information has made it into my chart. He’ll tell me to use a specific insulin, insist on giving me a sample instead of sending a prescription, then realize the samples aren’t what he thought and give me something “comparable.” When I later call for a refill, the office condescends to me for using something he supposedly didn’t prescribe. I still do not have the Dexcom sensors I’ve been calling about since this spring—yet the office has billed hundreds of dollars for “monitoring” sensors they never prescribed. Despite failing to provide the care I actually need, he felt entirely comfortable pushing his outdated, lazy, and unwanted opinions about how women should be planning their families. His knowledge and expertise is no longer up to date and he doesn't even seem aware of it.
