Bio

Dr. Olivia Begasse de Dhaem does not prescribe butalbital containing agents such as fioricet nor opiates for headache. Dr. Olivia Begasse de Dhaem is a board certified neurologist who works as a headache specialist at the Hartford HealthCare headache center in Westport, CT. She completed her medical school and neurology residency at Columbia University in New York City. She completed her headache medicine fellowship at Harvard University. She has published extensively in the field of headache medicine and has given national and international talks. She serves as Executive Editor for the Pain Medicine journal. She co-edited a textbook “Headache: What Do I Do Now?” published by Oxford University Press in April 2023. She is actively involved in medical societies. She is on the Education Committee of the International Headache Society. She is a fellow of the American Headache Society and on the American Headache Society Advocacy Committee. She feels passionate about advocacy. She is a graduate of the American Academy of Neurology Palatucci Advocacy Leadership Forum. She is a member of the Executive Committee of the International Headache Society’s Global Patient Advocacy Coalition (IHS-GPAC). She has attended Headache on the Hill four times so far and participated in writing the paper that served the Headache on the Hill advocacy efforts of 2020. Her main area of advocacy is to support people with headache diseases in the workplace.
