Dr. E. Stirling Craig is Director of microsurgical breast reconstruction– which employs special techniques to transfer tissue from one part of the body to another - at St. Vincent’s Medical Center.

She is a breast cancer and breast reconstruction expert who has extensive experience with such advanced techniques as microsurgery, deep inferior epigastric perforator (DIEP) and superior gluteal artery perforator (SGAP) flap reconstruction, and oncoplastic lift reconstruction and reduction after lumpectomy.

Having completed a fellowship in reconstructive microsurgery at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Texas, Dr. Craig is one of the few plastic surgeons in the country who specialize in the microsurgical procedures required for free flap reconstruction for breast cancer and lymphedema patients.

Dr. Craig earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia, and her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Prior to her fellowship, she completed a six-year plastic surgery residency at Yale School of Medicine where she learned various aesthetic and reconstructive procedures.

She is board-certified in plastic surgery, and a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and American Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery.
