What is Outpatient Nursing?

Outpatient Nursing is all about supporting patients and providers in a fast-paced, ever-evolving care environment.

Our nurses are often the first point of contact, helping:

  • Triage patients
  • Manage follow-up care
  • Share test results
  • Educate patients with new diagnoses

Whether it’s answering messages in MyChart or providing a listening ear during a visit, outpatient nurses are essential to delivering compassionate, high-quality care.

How is Outpatient Nursing Different from Inpatient Nursing?

Unlike hospital based-care, outpatient nursing allows for long-term relationships with patients. Nurses often care for the same individuals for months or even years, getting to know them and their health journeys.

Care happens in many ways, including:

  • In-person visits
  • Virtual appointments
  • Phone calls
  • MyChart messages

Every day is dynamic and different.

Why Choose Outpatient Nursing

Outpatient Nursing offers a unique opportunity to share the future of healthcare. Nurses play a key role in innovation, education and patient empowerment.

The work is meaningful, the pace is varied, and the impact is lasting. Plus, the schedule often includes regular hours with nights and weekends off – helping to support a healthier work-life balance.
