Appointment FAQs

Q: What happens when I call for a 24-hour appointment?
A: Here's what to expect:

  • We will ask you for basic identifying information, such as address, phone number and insurance carrier.
  • Next, we will ask you a series of questions to help find the most appropriate provider and location.
  • If you're a new patient looking for any type of appointment: wellness visit, sick visit or consultation, health management such as diabetes check, we are going to find you a provider that best suits your healthcare within 24 hours or later if desired.
  • If you're an existing patient and already have an established relationship with one of our providers, we will always do our best to have you see your provider for your visit. There may be instances, such as urgent care visits, when you will be seen by another provider within your provider's office or at another location convenient for you. Your medical record travels with you throughout our sites with our electronic health record system. So no matter which office you go to; we're connected to your personal health record.

Q: Can I pre-register online before my appointment in order to save time at the office?
A: Yes! Hartford HealthCare is now offering a safe and convenient way for you to check-in to your scheduled appointment. eCheck-in is a virtual registration function in the MyChart app and MyChartPLUS website, allowing you to complete the check-in process from home to save time when you arrive to your appointment. Q: Are there times when I won't receive a same-day appointment?
A: Our first priority is to ensure that people who have an urgent need to be seen by a provider are given appointments or directed to one of our convenient urgent care locations right away.

It is possible that your appointment will be scheduled further out if you need a routine physical/annual wellness check-up or if there is a specific provider that you would like to see.

Q: Besides making an appointment, what are other options for immediate care?
A: If your concern is more immediate, please visit one of our urgent care locations listed below. They will be able to assist you right away. No appointment is necessary. See the list of our Urgent Care locations and hours. In the case of an emergency please dial 911.
